David Charlier

Co-Founder, Community Engament Lead

Trained as an architect, my career in art began in scenography. Throughout my experience, I will never stop imbuing my creations with different techniques and concepts from related artistic disciplines. (Floral art - basketry - painting - sewing - dance - theater)

In 2008 I founded ZAtelier, an event architecture workshop and I surrounded myself with artists and craftsmen from all walks of life. For ten years we have collaborated on numerous shows and other events such as carnivals or other cultural fairs.

In 2013 I decided to deepen my pictorial universe and began my first paintings; first a first collective exhibition in 2014 with the collective 509, then an open day of my studio in 2016. In 2019 it will be with the Good People workshops, a collective of young Haitian artists living in Canada that we present a short series during of the event entitled Before they Gone under the friendly gaze of international artist Manuel Mathieu.

In addition to painting and performance, I also manage cultural projects aimed at strengthening the capacities of actors in the performing arts.
